Eat Like a Yogi

Practicing moderation, or the yogic principle Brahmacharya, is ideal when it comes to food and beverage choices. While it may not always be possible, do your best to eat a variety of whole foods each day and limit overdoing it on any food or beverage. That might look like choosing fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains over really greasy or heavily processed foods on most days. This also includes beverage consumption such as coffees, teas, and smoothies.

Moderation doesn’t mean giving them up, but instead notice your portion size and intentions behind your choices. If you have a day where you had too much of one food or beverage, practice Santosha and accept what is and move on. You could use this opportunity for self study, another yogic principle called Svadhyaya to explore your habits.
