Paddling Adventures at Maplewood State Park

In June we rented a cart-in, rustic cabin on Beers Lake at Maplewood State Park in northern MN. It was beautiful weather for paddling, fishing, hiking, passing a soccer and volley ball, and hanging out by the fire.

The short gravel path was flat, making it an easy quarter mile one way trek

View from the cabin

A path just wide enough for our canoe and kayaks through the tall grasses lead us to a skinny wooden dock on Beers lake

Paddling out to an island

On flat water, we crossed open water to explore the perimeter of an island

Stellar sunsets

and an expansive view for stargazing
